The English philosopher Francis Bacon once said, “Knowledge is power,” but in the era of Global Network 2.0, CNEX asserts, “Communication is power.”

CNEX believes that the deeper the communication, the greater the momentum of soft power. Therefore, during 2007-2017, CNEX organized Documentary Film Festival based on the annual theme. This festival showcased and presented the documentary images, visual arts, and literary works that CNEX had created, encouraged, supported, introduced, and collected throughout the year. CNEX Documentary Film Festival served as a platform for communication, allowing mutual inspiration and reflection.

It is also an occasion for in-depth dialogue, exchange, and debate on the annual theme. In addition to creators and documentarians, CNEX invited elites, opinion leaders, and young people from across the Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong, Macau, and overseas to gather together. In the carnival-like hall of CNEX Documentary Film Festival everyone collectively experienced the impact of images and visuals, thereby stimulating profound thinking, vibrant creativity, flourishing imagination, open expression, and passionate inspiration. This captured the developmental trajectory of Chinese people in the early 21st century, becoming a memo for future growth and prosperity.
